Publicize!

People says it's hard to be an independent author. That's true. But large publishers aren't helping their authors much these days either. You have to market! Give away free bookmarks. Give away refrigerator magnets. Give away review copies. People like free!

What writing software do you use?

My neighbor asked me what writing software I use. Microsoft Word! These programs you see advertised on the internet that promise to help you write your novel are just note-taking systems. If you want to take notes on your computer, you may as well use yWriter, which is free. Or pencil and paper! :-)
